Snoop Dogg to be title sponsor of college football bowl game

Snoop Dogg has a ton of experience dealing with bowls, but one might not expect the two to be connected in the way they were announced on Monday.

The longtime artist and entertainer tweeted that he is dropping it like it's hot, with "it" presumably being millions of dollars, so that he can name a college football bowl game.

The Arizona Bowl is now being sponsored by Snoop and his beverage line (co-opted with Dr. Dre) "Gin & Juice."

The game will be known as "The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop." It will be played on Dec 28, 2024 at 2:30 pm MT.

The Arizona Bowl itself is a 501(c), and since it donates all its revenue to charity, it has a bit more flexibility than some other bowls as it relates to sponsorship deals.

For instance, last year, the bowl was sponsored by Barstool Sports.

“We are a little different from all the other bowls. We’re not afraid to take risks and do things outside of the box,” executive director Kym Adair said, per Ross Dellinger. “An alcohol brand has always been off the table for us until recently. Everybody in the stadium is drinking a beer or cocktail. It’s time for the industry to evolve.”

And as far as Snoop is concerned? Being the sponsor of this bowl game is simply the next step in his evolution as a football guy. Keep in mind, the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) has been around for 18 years and is a mainstay in the Los Angeles area.

“I’ve sent many players through my SYFL to colleges and the NFL so it’s only fitting that I bring the 'juice' back to college football,” Snoop Dogg said. “With Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop, we’re going to make the Arizona Bowl into a game day experience like never before.”
